Activity: Team Up
Objective: To create project teams of up to 4 students through an interactive, strategy-themed activity that simulates decision-making.
Materials:
- Tent cards/place cards (one per student)
- Whiteboard or large sheets of paper
- Markers
Instructions:
- Prepare: Before the activity, You should come prepared with the following information written on your tent card:
- Top-Pick Company: Their preferred S&P 500 company for the group project.
- Major: Your declared major or area of specialization.
- Conversation Starter: An interesting fact, skill, or interest you want to share.
- Strategic Grouping: Please get out of your seats and mingle, using your cards to find other “companies” and individuals who would make good strategic allies for a project team. Consider factors like:
- Complementary strengths (diverse majors)
- Potential for synergy and innovation (shared interests or complementary companies)
- Shared values or goals
